This performance was a part of the 24 -Hour Art Marathon Festival 2009 taking place at the Eastern Edge centre from 14 to 23 August 2009.
The 2009 festival was organized under the motto: PAST - PRESENT - FUTURE. The reason for this is the fact that this first artist-run space of Newfoundland and Labrador now exists there for already 25 years, thus since 1984.
In the documentation booklet their work has been duly appreciated with greetings by the governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, by the minister of culture and by the mayor.
The action DIRECT on the parking lot in front of the Eastern Edge gallery was accompanied by a photo exhibition by Elke Suhr in interior.
There, “the Hamburg Case” a folder with documentation material from the other WSW #3 artist-run spaces was presented.
DIRECT takes 30 minutes. It is made up of two cars accommodating 4 persons each. Each car is equipped with a CD player on the dash board, with a CD for listening to the lecture in English language. In addition, in each car there is a slide viewer with a set of 22 slides. Thus, the lecture itself is accompanied by a slide show with a sequence of pictures dealing with the art history and technological development of the ARROW.
On the dash board of the both cars stood in each case a CD player with a CD, for listening the the lecture in English language.
